…ACCUMULATING SNOW EXPECTED THROUGH EARLY MONDAY…
…BRUTALLY COLD WIND CHILL TO FOLLOW MONDAY INTO TUESDAY…

.A WINTER STORM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE OHIO VALLEY THIS EVENING AND INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW THROUGH THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING…BEFORE ACCUMULATING SNOW ENDS OVERNIGHT. ARCTIC AIR MOVING IN BEHIND THE STORM WILL BRING THE COLDEST TEMPERATURES SEEN IN THE OHIO VALLEY FOR ALMOST 20 YEARS.

…WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM EST MONDAY…
…WIND CHILL WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM MONDAY TO 5 PM EST TUESDAY…

* HAZARD TYPES…SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW WILL OCCUR TONIGHT. IN ADDITION…A QUICK DROP IN TEMPERATURES WILL CAUSE ANY STANDING WATER TO RAPIDLY FREEZE. EXTREMELY COLD WIND CHILL READINGS WILL OCCUR MONDAY INTO TUESDAY.

* ACCUMULATIONS…SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 1 TO 3 INCHES IS EXPECTED.

* TIMING…RAIN WILL OCCUR ACROSS THE REGION LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EVENING. RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW AFTER SUNSET…BEFORE DIMINISHING TO LIGHT SNOW SHOWERS AFTER MIDNIGHT. RAPIDLY FALLING TEMPERATURES WILL FREEZE ANY WET SURFACES TONIGHT. ARCTIC AIR WILL SETTLE OVER THE REGION MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

* WINDS…WESTERLY WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH ARE EXPECTED THROUGH TUESDAY. WINDS MAY GUST AS HIGH AS 30 TO 35 MPH.

* WIND CHILL READINGS…THE WIND CHILL WILL BE AS LOW AS 40 DEGREES BELOW ZERO FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON.

* IMPACTS…HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED DUE TO REDUCED VISIBILITIES…SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…BLOWING SNOW AND RAPID FREEZING OF WET ROADS. THE FRIGID CONDITIONS WILL BE DANGEROUS TO THOSE VENTURING OUTSIDE. PROLONGED EXPOSURE MAY CAUSE FROSTBITE.

A WIND CHILL WARNING MEANS THE COMBINATION OF VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL CREATE DANGEROUSLY LOW WIND CHILL VALUES. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA OR DEATH IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN.
