…SNOW EXPECTED TONIGHT…WITH AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF COLD TEMPERATURES TO FOLLOW…

SNOW IS FORECAST TO AFFECT THE REGION FROM LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. ALTHOUGH THIS SNOW WILL GENERALLY BE LIGHT…WITH ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO AN INCH EXPECTED…THE POTENTIAL EXISTS FOR BRIEF PERIODS OF HEAVIER SNOW BETWEEN 9 PM AND 3 AM. THIS SNOW WILL OCCUR ALONG A STRONG COLD FRONT…WHICH WILL BRING A RAPID DROP IN TEMPERATURES…AND WIND GUSTS TO AROUND 30 MPH.

BEHIND THIS COLD FRONT…AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF VERY COLD CONDITIONS IS EXPECTED. HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE LIKELY TO REMAIN BELOW 20 DEGREES THROUGH FRIDAY…WITH LOW TEMPERATURES REACHING VALUES NEAR OR EVEN BELOW ZERO. WIND CHILLS WILL BE VERY LOW…WITH VALUES OF 10 TO 20 DEGREES BELOW ZERO ON THURSDAY MORNING…AND VALUES OF 15 TO 25 DEGREES BELOW ZERO ON FRIDAY MORNING.
